With the ongoing success of the 9 volume Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series, the publisher has launched the follow on series Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi to continue on the path of Star Wars future history. Already the series has seen the release of the hardcover editions of OUTCAST, OMEN, ABYSS and BACKLASH, with ALLIES (May 2010) and VORTEX (December 2010) to follow later this year. An additional 3 novels will then follow in 2011 with CONVICTION the first for release in the first quarter.
For those who have been eagerly awaiting the mass market paperback edition, OUTCAST should be available towards the end of this month (April 2010) with OMEN (May 2010) and ABYSS (June 2010) to be released in quick succession. Of course there may be a gap in the release of the remaining novels as the hardcovers see a release schedule with a 6 month delay between each release. Obviously the paperbacks will do much to expand awareness of this new series.
So, how does it all start?
Chief of State Natasi Daala orders the arrest of Luke Skywalker based on the view that Luke is guilty of Jacen Solo’s fall to the Dark Side as covered in the previous Legacy of the Force series. With rising distrust of the Jedi as insanity spreads amongst the Jedi, Luke and his son Ben take it upon themselves to seek the truth. A hero born with a destiny to fulfill…or simple pigheadedness that has seen Luke defy the odds time and time again (Not that you weren’t expecting it)
Aaron Allston, Christie Golden and Troy Denning are weaving a tale that will ensure fans of the previous series much to look forward to.
